On-demand management information: Making it happen
The diagnostic study has outlined your requirements - the information you need and the way in which this will be communicated.
Successful delivery - the right outcome, on time and within budget - requires a practical programme management approach, such as the OGC’s ‘Managing Successful Programmes’.
Our role in this programme and its management will depend on the technical solution you select - configuration of an off-the-shelf software application or construction of a bespoke system.
In all cases we can work with you to flesh out the user requirements and to mock up the desired information presentation formats and tools.
We have extensive experience of IS programme management, so we can then guide you through the process of selecting a technical solution – data, reports, tools and infrastructure - and work with you to plan and manage the implementation programme.
Throughout, our role will focus on the essential but often weak link between the business (the users and the commercial case) and the technologists (internal and external IS people). We will also ensure that risk, benefits and programme communication are actively managed.
Too often, implementation of the system is seen as the end of the programme. But we will also work to ensure that the management information is accessible, and that the planned performance improvement benefits are being realised.
